Lake Murray was the sight of many wonderful,wonderful times for the SIS Conference. But do to falling attendance and some deteriorating conditions at the Lodge and various cabins, Board Members and others thought a change in venue would help revitalize the conference. Change is difficult, especially with so many fond memories at Lake Murray. Into our second year at Tanglewood Resort, we are still feeling our way. We are coming up with new events and activities for the conference to help make the weekend as enjoyable as possible. No one loves this conference more or is more dedicated to it's success than the board members, past and present, and the people behind the scenes who help organize this annual event. Yes, change is difficult, but we are trying our best to ensure a wonderful weekend of enjoyment, friendship, and serenity!

I loved Lake Murray but they kept promising resoration and still have not delivered. Let's make some new memories!

I absolutely loved Lake Murray, and after 18 years of attending the conference there it was sad to see that run come to an end. I was involved with getting the change in venue for the conference and I truly feel it was the best move for the conference. Change is brutal for creatures of habit, but we had to do something to revitalize the conference so the conference can continue for the next generation. At the rate it was going there wasn't going to be a conference to go to, so we could either ride it into the ground while waiting on the State to do what they had promised for years or move. We lost a lot of people over the last 3 or 4 years soley because of the accomidations, and even though I live for the conference, I found myself the last couple of years debating on whether or not I would be back the next year. Last year was the best time I've had at Singles in years, and I see the conference as having a good shot at getting back to the level that it was at 10 or 15 years ago. We have AWESOME accomidations now, and I'm looking forward to forging new memories at Tanglewood!!!!!!!!!!!
